Sometimes, configuring wireless-printers can be tricky. That’s it! Your printer should now be installed and you can print to it. Once the installation and configuration is complete, your printer should appear in the column on the left. There shouldn’t be any need to manually install any drivers as long as your printer manufacturer has made the drivers available online.
This can take up to five minutes, but usually completes within thirty seconds. Step 4: Your Mac will now automatically search for drivers and configure the printer. In this example we are using the Epson WF-3520. A list of printers and scanners connected to the local network will appear. Step 3: Click the + icon under the column on the left. If you have previously installed a printer or scanner to your machine, the column will list these devices. If you haven’t got any printers installed, the column on the left will be blank. If you have a wireless printer, you can quickly add it on your Mac without any setup as long as both devices are on the same WiFi network. If nothing happens, your printer may not be compatible with your version of macOS. Your Mac should automatically detect the printer and begin the installation process.Download and install any new software if you’re prompted to. Power on the printer to ensure that it’s not showing any errors and then connect the USB cable to your Mac.
